I realized that certain events in life happen for a reason, and once we found out that Beaches Resort in Varadero, Cuba also offered free weddings on property, and accepted singles, couples, and families as well, we knew our decision was correct one! If anyone ever tells you wedding application process is difficult, get a second opinion! We went online and printed resorts application form, faxed it off and in a matter of weeks we received a confirmation of selected date and time of wedding ceremony without any problems.

When we arrived in Cuba, island location was exactly what we remembered, and clear turquoise beach rising and falling onto soft golden sand brought back some wonderful memories of our past visit! We checked into our very spacious suite, and for first couple of days took part in resorts endless variety of buffet and A la Carte dining, amazing entertainment, and non-stop flow of mojitos and margaritas!

Our special day could not have come any sooner, and we were amazed with ceremony location on property! The garden wedding gazebo was romantically trimmed with aromatic exotic flowers, and bordered with swaying palm trees. As wedding ceremony commenced I soon realized that two dreams were fulfilled that day. I not only married my soul mate, but we performed an exotic island wedding, and became one in island paradise!

Also do not be afraid to negotiate with vendors. If you find a florist you just love but they are $1000 more expensive - then talk them. Maybe tell them you just adore their work but they are a little too expensive – ask them what they could do to make price fit within your budget.

Additionally be very careful when telling any vendor budget you have for their service. Somehow all photographers will quote you $1500 when you tell them your budget is $1500! Ask them their price first. If they try to tell you they have many packages ask them what their most popular price point is. It also doesn’t hurt to let it slip that you will be visiting some of their competitors as well!

Finally don’t forget this is supposed to be FUN! Your wedding day WILL be wonderful, sure there will be some hiccups, but trust me, in end it will go off wonderfully if you just apply a little planning and commonsense.
